I have been able to use the skills I have learned through journalism to make connections with other people and to make a profit for myself. I have used photography to take senior photos for my peers, share photos for the yearbook and for my local newspaper.
Entrepreneurship
On social media and through word of mouth I have advertised to take senior photos of my peers. Numerous students have approached me to take their photos; it is a great opportunity for me to exercise my skills and make some cash.
Along with writing for my local newspaper, I will also take photos for them. If I am at an event I will take photos for the Enterprise and if I write a story I will get paid to take a photo that goes along with what I have written.
This year I have helped out my yearbook by sending in photos I take at events and throughout my daily life. The yearbook theme is "No mountain high enough." so the crew wants photos of CHS students doing what they do best: being outdoors.
