Journalism is more than producing stories it is about informing the public. This means events among our school and community, CHS sports and their performance, and small calendar events. CHS Wired has multiple social media platforms, it's main two being Facebook and Twitter. The Cody Enterprise is on Facebook as well.
Twitter is an ideal social media platform for teenagers. It is one of the most used platforms where teens get there news. Considering that, it is an intelligent way to engage students from my community and around the nation to see what Wyoming has to offer in the news. I love sharing my photos I have taken at events on Twitter so my peers and others can see the life of a Cody High School student from my lense.

On my own personal Twitter, I will post pictures and share details about events at my school. I will put hashtags and tag the CHS wired account with the intention of reposting the tweet on the CHS Wired account.

On the CHS Wired Twitter account, we will post the results for different sports teams to keep our community immediately updated. These posts were done by me during the tennis match so they were immediate and accurate.
Facebook is the adult version of Twitter; adults are constantly posting photos of their family friends. High school news should not only focus on appealing to the younger generation but the older ones as well. Through Facebook CHS Wired and The Cody Enterprise can share videos and articles that parents and friends can proudly share to brag about their loved ones. Apart from sharing, community members have the opportunity to share positive feedback and encouragement in the comments that would other wise go unheard.
CHS Wired has a Facebook page that is a great way to share news with parents and community members who do not regularly watch our show.

On our Facebook page, we will upload short videos of school events and of our last show. This way community members or students who missed school can stay updated in a way that makes them feel they were there.

We will put up informational posts so students and parents are aware of upcoming events. We also share photos of past events that students were involved in so parents and students can share

The Cody Enterprise will post links to stories published on their website and in the paper so the articles can be viewed by people who are not actively reading on those platforms.
